The BMS faculty provide leadership roles and teaching expertise for the systems-based UA COM-Phoenix medical school curriculum. We are particularly excited about the imminent opening of the Health Sciences Education Building which will provide the students with an ultra-modern state-of-the art learning environment including facilities for small group learning, study and library space, and a gross anatomy laboratory.
BMS faculty also mentor medical students in their scholarly projects, a four-year research project aimed at honing critical-thinking and life-long learning skills, and culminating in a thesis.
Plans are underway for a UA COM-Phoenix based Ph.D. program in Translational Biomedical Sciences with an anticipated launch date in the fall of 2014.
BMS laboratories also provide a superb training environment for post-doctoral fellows wishing to experience a collaborative and interdisciplinary research setting with the opportunity to undertake applied and translational work through our many affiliates in the Phoenix area.
